HEY SARAH, WE STILL DESPISE YOU

The lead story at Memeorandum right now is Levi Johnston's acknowledgment (in People magazine) that in an earlier wave of media availabilities he "publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true."

Johnston and the former vice presidential candidate had been engaged in a war of words, with the 20-year-old accusing Palin of complaining about her job as governor of Alaska and claiming "there was a lot of talk of divorce" in the Palin household.

A turning point for Palin? Nahhh.

Last September, when TBogg wrote this in response to a Johnston accusation about Palin's parenting of Trig, I'm sure I wasn't the only person nodding in agreement with what the 'Bogg wrote -- all of it:

Now I’ll be the first to admit that Sarah Palin is a dim-witted opportunistic grifter who would climb over the still-warm bodies of her own children to grasp the golden ring of fame and fortune, a Lonesome Rhodes of the Icepack peddling bullshit homilies to the uneducated bitter clingers with attention spans slightly shorter than the time it takes to recite the pledge of allegiance, a quitter, a liar, a fraud, an emotionally stunted woman-child who thinks she can dazzle the big city folk with her small town beauty queen runner-up status... but I don't think that she’s ever called Trig, even in jest, "the retarded baby".

So there.

She can thank me later.

Not much I can add to that. Johnston always sounded as if he was making it up as he went along. I'm glad TBogg said so at the time; I didn't (I just ignored Johnston) because there was so much else to dislike about Palin.

There still is. She's going to be America's Caligula if she's ever elected president. And nothing Levi Johnston retracts changes that.
