WHO'S MORE EMBARRASSINGLY OBSESSED: MARK SANFORD OR THE PALIN FEUDERS?

Mark Sanford has been babbling, whimpering, and oversharing for several days now -- but is he really the nationally prominent Republican with the least control over his emotions right now?

The 2008 election has been over for eight months, and still there's feuding and fighting between the McCain-loyalist idiots who mismanaged the senator's presidential campaign and the idiot they helped choose as his running mate, as well as the running-mate idiot's idiot loyalists in the press. McCain loyalists leak shamelessly to Vanity Fair's Todd Purdum. William "Unrequited" Kristol leaps to his true love's defense, accusing McCainiac Steve Schmidt of being the key leaker. Other '08ers jump in and swap charges. And now snappish campaign e-mails are showing up in a CBS story.

If Sanford's got a bad case of amour fou, this is haine fou -- crazy hate. Get a room! ... Er, I mean, take it outside!

And the woman in the middle of all this brawling is no less bitter -- we know she's still angry at Tina Fey, and, as Wonkette has noted, she took a nasty swipe at septuagenarian torture victim John McCain in her recent Runner's World interview:

I used to joke around with John McCain during the campaign about coming jogging with me. And once I asked him what his favorite exercise was, and he said, "I go wading." Wading. He lives on a creek in Arizona, so he goes wading. That cracked me up.

Well, that's probably not grudge-holding so much as garden-variety narcissistic lack of empathy. Still: Get over it, all of you! Just like Sanford, you've lost all perspective! The '08 election is over, and you were drubbed! But you get to feud and fight all over again in three years! ... No, wait -- don't stop fighting! I changed my mind! The most important thing right now is who among Randy Scheunemann and Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace and Bill Kristol is on speaking terms! Keep hashing that out! Let the bitterness linger, for years and years!
