MEMORIZING HER BRIEFING BOOK THOROUGHLY, INCLUDING THE FOOTNOTES

From the posted excerpts of tonight's ABC Sarah Palin interview:

Sarah Palin on Russia:

We cannot repeat the Cold War. We are thankful that, under Reagan, we won the Cold War, without a shot fired, also. We've learned lessons from that in our relationship with Russia, previously the Soviet Union.

I love that -- "previously the Soviet Union." Thanks for including the clarification, Sarah.

Reminds of the story (which I can't seem to find) of Poppy Bush mistaking the shorthand in his speech notes for text he was actually supposed to read, which, of course, led him to say, "Message: I care."

UPDATE: The Dark Avenger found the Bush story -- see the comments.
